AERC – Endurance Ride at Caja del Rio
Sunday, September 5
The Caja is coming up Sunday, Sept. 5. We will have a lovely set of trails with minimal elevation gains and rocks. Great views. We will have water at base camp (like Ft. Stanton) for horses and you will be able to wash your favorite mount after the ride! We will also have Ft. Stanton-like outhouses. The trail grant work is being done. Oh yes, we will have nice metal gates thanks to AERC that replace the barbed wire range gates. For more information go to http://ridecaja.weebly.com/ or contact anne.podlesak@gmail.com

NATRC Region 3 Ride – Chile Line
Type A-Two-Day
Taos, NM,  September 11-12, 2010

Rider Limit:  60

The Chile Line is back!! This is the flattest ride in Region 3. Come ride where the Chile Line railroad came up out of the Rio Grande Gorge into scenic Taos, NM, before heading north to Colorado. Much of the trail is on the old railroad bed and the footing is perfect. Sunday’s trail goes off the rail line and has some rocky spots so hoof protection is HIGHLY recommended.

THEME: ‘Cheers for Chile’!!
Friday night is the chile cook off so bring your best concoction to share with others and maybe win a prize – 1st -3rd will be awarded.

NATRC Region 3 Ride – Chokecherry
Sanctioned Type A Two Day

Farmington, NM  September 24-26, 2010
Rider Limit: 60

SHOOTOUT AT THE CUMBERWORTH CORRAL

Another fun filled theme ride by the San Juan Valley Trail Riders! It’s fall 1881 and you are about to ride into the town of Tombstone. Is that Doc Holliday getting off the stage? Don’t forget to check your gun with Sheriff Wyatt Earp….after overnighting in town, you will ride out early to search for the Clanton’s and McLaury’s, traversing a varied terrain of mesas, arroyos and pinons, winding through the strange and beautiful badlands of northwestern NM looking for outlaws.
